Caught up with some of the local Melbourne lads in Fitzroy a couple of weeks back, to chew the fat, have a few beers and run the streets with some Puma heat.

Got me thinking about how we increasingly lead our lives online.  One benefit of producing creative content, is the ability to promote it online and worldwide with all the advances in technology.  This is obviously a fantastic thing for people who in the past would not have had that kind of exposure.  On the flip side though we are all insulated from a lot of the people we connect with.  A big thing for me in 2017, was taking the opportunity to connect face to face with some of the fantastic creatives in my home town of Melbourne, who I have met through various forums onlineI firmly believe that regardless of all these technological advances and the benefits they provide there is still no substitute for this personal interaction, which is invaluable for us as human beings and also in building both personal and working relationships.

There is obviously a huge sneaker community worldwide, I would guess in the multi-millions nowadays so connecting with some of these talented guys is something I really enjoyed and sharing the knowledge we have all picked up through our passion for sneakers and photography.

Thom is the creative brain behind DopeKoto an Australian youth culture blog with a broad range of excellent content, so definitely head over to the website or have a gander at their Instagram feed @dopekotoThom is also mad for his kicks and takes a mean photo, which you can scope on Instagram @rawthomato.

Andy is still grafting at his studies, but has a huge passion for photography, and maintains a seriously refined sneaker collection, with a strong nod to Melbourne and the native Sneaker Freaker.  He has a smorgasbord of seriously rare pairs, and strongly believes in wearing his heat, so if you want to scope some grail level footwear on feet check him out on Instagram @andehjames.

Timmy is a professional wedding photographer @intothepines.  Another huge proponent of the local Sneaker Freaker scene, he is slowly amassing the entire line of collabs produced by the Melbourne sneaker power house.  This is coupled with his unashamed obsession with Patagonia stash, including an enviable and mad cool collection of caps.  He has a wide portfolio of photography and produces some phenomenal sneaker and streetwear work @_timmysmalls.

I highly recommend checking them out for an incredible range of both sneakers, and streetwear, with a proud emphasis on the sneaker culture and community here in Melbourne Australia.  All these lads have a serious work ethic, balancing their love for sneakers and photography and creating unique content with full time work/studies, something I think most people with a creative drive can really relate to.
